Reports and recommendations on four topics have been published as part of the ASPIRE (A Study on the Prospects of the Internet for Research and Education) project. These reports provide the basis for the second ASPIRE stakeholder workshop, to be held in Brussels on 13 September 2012, where the final ASPIRE report will be defined. Your input to the final recommendations is welcome: workshop registration is open via http://www.terena.org/aspire/ws2.
The published reports and recommendations cover the adoption of cloud services and the adoption of mobile services; middleware and managing data and knowledge in a data-rich world; and the future roles of NRENs (national research and education network organisations). A summary of key recommendations and pdf downloads of the reports can be found on http://www.terena.org/activities/aspire/.
Following the first ASPIRE workshop, in May 2011, four panels of invited experts and the ASPIRE team, led by TERENA, consulted widely, used surveys, interviews and their own specialist knowledge to develop the published reports and recommendations.
The final report, which will be defined at the September 2012 workshop and is the formal deliverable of the ASPIRE project, will be made available in pdf download and printed paper formats.
