SEEREN2 Winter School

11-15 March 2007
Kopaonik, Serbia
Kopaonik Snow

Overview

The SEEREN2 project is organising a Winter School following the successful 'Summer School' that took place in Heraklion, Greece, on 25-27 September 2006. The event is being co-located with the YUINFO 2007 conference which is taking place in the same venue and is being organised in collaboration with AMRES, the Serbian Research and Education Network. If you wish to attend the YUINFO 2007 Conference then you must register separately to that event, the registration fee is €50.

In the same vein as the Summer School, this two-day training event is aimed at NREN's Access Port Managers (APMs) and experts from the Network Operation Centre both from the NREN and a number of South Eastern European Universities. SEEREN2 is also organising a full day project meeting on Sunday 11 March and a full day conference session on the south east european research and education networking on Wednesday 14 March.

The topics of the Winter School will be:

  1. Identity Management
  2. VoIP and Videoconferencing

For more details please visit the programme page.

If you would like to attend any of these events, please register before the 2 February.

Venue

All events will be held in the Polyvalent Congress Centre, Kopaonik. More details about the venue, Konaci, will be provided soon on this website. Wireless internet connectivity will be available in the venue.

Getting there

To expedite delegate travel as much as possible the organisers would like to arrange a bus to transfer delegates to the venue from Belgrade on Saturday 10 March and back on Thursday 15 March. In order to enable this, we ask that you provide your expected arrival time (on these days) at registration.

If it is not possible to accommodate you on the pre-arranged bus to Kopaonik, you will need to make your own way there. Kopaonik is about 5-6 hours drive from Belgrade. There are two public buses per day to the mountain resort in Kopaonik from Belgrade. The bus fare is approximately €30 return. There are a number of bus lines available, but we recommend that you use the Lasta Beograd company, as it is a more reliable service.
