Its board of directors is made up of the Chief Executive of Jisc Ltd, CEO of Janet(UK),Finance Director, CEO of Jisc Collections and non executive directors representing higher and further education. There is also a Stakeholder Group representing the various UK funding bodies. Jisc Collections and Janet Limited is a subsidiary company of Jisc limited, which is owned by the AoC, GuildHE and UUK.

  33. On 1 December 2012, Janet and Jisc Collections joined together to form Jisc Collections and Janet Limited, a subsidiary company of Jisc Limited.

    The next generation network, Janet6, core was commissioned in May 2013, with the connection of the regional networks due to occur during summer 2013. Janet6 will replace SuperJanet5 during the autumn of 2013.
