After a period of intensive preparation within the GigaPort3 innovation project, the year 2012 was marked by the transition from SURFnet6 to SURFnet7.
The SURFfederatie authentication service is functionally equivalent to SURFconext, and a start was made on incorporating it into SURFconext in 2012.
Managing Director Kees Neggers left us at the end of June, when he reached retirement age. Erik Huizer joined SURFnet as Technology Director.
