The project has been delayed throughout 2011. HEAnet will be helping BDREN with their tender and network & services roll-out in 2012, along with providing some training and consultation.

AfricaConnect: HEAnet's role within the AfricaConnect project is one of active participation in the procurement and design phases. 34. Client Service Review Programme
The Client Service Review Programme continued throughout 2011, and remains an important means of staying in touch and gathering feedback on what matters to our Clients. As part of this process we undertook a formal Client Survey, which achieved a high response rate of 64%. The subsequent Client Survey Findings Report (published in Q1 2012) details the survey results and will be used to measure HEAnet’s performance over time, and as input into ongoing service strategy and operational planning.

    Client Requirements Process
Sustaining high quality services is at the heart of Client Services Management, and during 2011 we launched a Clients Requirements Process. This process enables client organisations, or groups of organisations within the HEAnet client community to submit proposals for new services that clients would like HEAnet to consider.

The significant output from this process will feed into a Service Plan, detailing the engagements we plan to undertake, on the basis of their strategic fit, engagement type and available resources. We would like to thank all those who submitted proposals under the process, and also the members of the Services Evaluation Group/SEG for their time to date.

  35. Section A: Client Institutions - A.3

HEAnet would like to see a new category added: Other
HEAnet has 8/10 clients who do not fit in the listed categories but would fall under an Other category – examples of the kinds of organisation we are talking about would be; IUA (Irish University Association) or IoTI (Institutes of Technology in Ireland)...
  36. Nothing further to add to our comments listed under F35 above.
