  19. REANNZ was formed in September 2005 as a Crown-owned Company under the Companies Act and is listed on Schedule 4 of the Public Finance Act. Its shareholding is 100% vested in the Crown, with the Ministers of Research, Science & Technology and Finance as equal shareholders. REANNZ has a Board of currently 5 Directors and 13 Full-Time Employees.

National Core network supply was transitioned from a vertically integrated service to a layered set of services from different vendors - FX networks provide most core connectivity, Brocade switches, Juniper routers and Dimension Data provide service management. International network transitioned from 155Mb/s to Sydney and 622Mb/s to Seattle provided by Verizon to a 1Gb/s service to Sydney and a 1Gb/s service to Los Angeles provided by TelstraClear.
