  19. Major part of RENAM Council (Governing body) members are appointed by research and education institutions and some members are representatives of ministries and state agencies
  20. The Council of RENAM Association is the governing organ of the Association according to its Statute. The Council consists of profile ministries' representatives, well-known scientists of Moldova, research institutions' managers, information systems and networking specialists, which represent the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Universities of Moldova, and other scientific and educational institutions. The Council produces strategical decisions on RENAM network and information systems development directions, considers and adopts technical suggestions. The Council is headed by its elected Chairman. Head of the Council is governing consultative organ bureau of the Council.
    Between Council meetings the Association is governed by Co-presidents of the Association. In 1999 two co-presidents were appointed.
    The Council of the Association appoints General Director and executive managers staff, which is responsible for all current activity of the Association. The activity of Association's Executive staff is supervised by General Director of the Association. Executive Department of RENAM has its consultative organ   Scientific - Technical Committee of experts.
    Other parts of RENAM organizational structure:
    - Executive managers - heads of RENAM departments;
    - Thematic departments;
    - RENAM NOC team personnel.

  34. Past year:
    Implementation of the 10Gbps links to GEANT Network via RoEduNet and 10Gbps links to RoEduNet Local ISP as backup facilities;
    New Cisco Systems routing equipment having 10Gbps ports was installed in the central communication node in Chisinau;
    New DF links were installed in Chisinau MAN that allowed to wider the own optical infrastructure up to 65 km.

    Coming year:
    Deployment of videoconferencing service.
  35. The Compendium containing a lot of very useful data, that can be utilized for understanding trends of NRENs future development and the policies of these organizations operation. Every year issue has new useful features and recently the process of information presentation unification has began that will allow to make direct comparison and understand precisely the real state of every target NREN. At present it became essential to have comprehensive overview of full gamma of services provided by NRENs for their user's communities.
