  20. Management board of MARNet consists of 8 members: 5 appointed by the rector, 1 appointed by the Ministry of Research and Education, 2 others appoint by two other universities.

  35. MARNet become GEANT member and participate in GN3 project. From February 2009 MARNet has upgraded its international link to 155 Mbps, using connection to GEANT through the Sofia PoP. From 1.January 2011 second link via Athens GEANT PoP will be activated.

    A low for MARNet status was adopted in the MAcedonian Parliament. In a process is adoption of the other documents concerning management, organizational structure and similar.

    Specifically making distinction between number of connected universities and its members (faculties). There are universities with only few faculties and less than 1000 students and university with 40.000 students and 21 faculties and 7 research institutes.
