Basic Information

In this section, we propose a distinction between different types of traffic by source or destination. Please take a look at the figure below, which attempts to illustrate the distinctions in terminology.
T1 - all traffic from customer sites
T2 - all traffic to customer sites

T3 - all traffic to external networks
T4 - all traffic to the NREN backbone

External traffic = all traffic to and from GÉANT, the Commercial Internet, Internet exchanges, etc. (made up of T3 and T4 above)
