  19. The Polish Optical Internet PIONIER is the Polish National Research and Educational Network founded and supported by Ministry of Scientific Research and Information Technology. The PIONIER network is a Consortium of 21 Metropolitan Area Networks. The Consortium is the highest administrative body, with the responsibility to supervise and formulate policy. PSNC owns the Polish National Research and Educational Network PIONIER and has been delegated by the Consortium to operate and manage the network. The owner of PSNC is Polish Academy of Sciences.
