F19. Please briefly describe the governing structure of your NREN
(in terms of members, governing body, decision making process, etc.)
1- The Ministry of Higher Education has charged the CNRST to set up Marwan Network.
The CNRST is a public establishment governed by the laws of the public administration.
The CNRST has a board of directors.

2- Marwan is not a legal entity, it s just a department of the CNRST.
The CNRST takes all the commitments concerning Marwan. The Director of the CNRST is the official person entitled to sign all these commitments.

3- The budget of Marwan is taken over the global budget of the CNRST which comes from the Ministry of Higher Education.

In April 2009, we've launched a tender for the three national telecom operators.
A new operator is chosen and the new network will start in january 2010.
This telecom operator will provide much more bandwidths to the universities and institutes connected to Marwan with better prices.
F37. We would be interested in receiving your feedback, both regarding the Compendium 2008 and this questionnaire. Both general comments and specific comments (e.g. about questions that you found difficult to understand or to answer or of limited value) would be appreciated.
Our network is not built on a dedicated backbone. Marwan is based on a VPN/MPLS shared backbone.
In this case, there are some questions that are difficult to answer, even impossible,
