  20. Established in June 2005 as a part of Ministry of Education and Sciencecarrying out activities to public benefit.
    The founders are distinguished figures from the Montenegrin academic, governmental and IT sector and are invited to establish the foundation in their personal capacity and as a sign of recognition for their outstanding experience and contribution towards the development of the research communications in Montenegro:

    The Information Technology Centre of University of Mntenegro (CIS) is responsible for the technical management and monitoring of the National Research and Educational Network.

    Ministry of Education and Science   Department for Science and Higher Education is responsible for professional and administrative activities according to MREN demands.
    As a secretary of MREN is nominated Mr. Saša Ivanović from Ministry of Education and Science, who is also represented as a contact person.

  37. During past year we did not had any major changes in network topology, except relocation of network core.
    In the coming year we plan to replace core router with better performing router. New router should have enough capacity to support full bgp routing tables, must be a modular router with possible IDS and IPS capabilities.
