    4. In January 2007 the NREN is set up as by the Ministry of science and environmental protection as a project, named "AMRES project".
The project clearly defines organizational and technical model of the network, with the idea to bridge the gap until the separated legal entity is established.
The contractor with the Ministry is the University of Belgrade, and third parties are other states' universities in Novi Sad, Nis and Kragujevac.
The project defines all the responsibilities and decision making mechanisms among the partners. Project searing committee (PSC), which is responsible for the project management, counts 5 members: one appointed by the Ministry (deputy minister of ICT), and others are appointed by the involved universities (directors of the computer centers). The president of PSC, who presents AMRES, is the director of Belgrade University Computer Center (RCUB). The Technical team is responsible for the executive matters – NOC, helpdesk, projects' activities etc.
