    4. Major part of RENAM Council (Governing body) members are appointed by research and education institutions and some members are representatives of ministries and state agencies
    5. The Council of RENAM Association is the governing organ of the Association according to its Statute. The Council consists of well-known scientists of Moldova, research institutions' managers, information systems and networking specialists, which represent the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Universities of Moldova, and other scientific and educational institutions. The Council produces strategy decisions on RENAM network and information systems development directions, considers and adopts technical suggestions. The Council is headed by its elected Chairman.
      Between Council meetings the Association is governed by Co-presidents of the Association. In 1999 two co-presidents were appointed.
      The Council of the Association appoints executive managers staff with RENAM Executive Director as a head, which is responsible for all current activity of the Association. The activity of Association's Executive staff is supervised by General Director of the Association.

    12. One new optical connections were realized in Chisinau MAN that allowed to wider the own optical infrastructure up to 33 km.
      In the communication node that provides external connectivity existing Cisco 7206 router was upgraded by NPE-G2 communication engine and two new Cisco WS-C2960G-24TC-L switches were installed in REAM nodes.
      The radio-relay channel Chisinau (RENAM, Moldova) – Iasi (RoEduNet, Romania) was transferred to new technical basis and its capacity upgraded in 2007 up to 155 Mbps. New external back-up channel of 40 Mbps capacity was provided by local IDSP StarNet. The summarized external channels capacity (excluding local IX peering) from September 2007 achieved 155 + 40 Mbps.
      In 2007-2008 the development of DF backbone in Chisinau was continued. One new RENAM node was connected by fiber optics link that allowed improve connectivity for campuses of Technical University of Moldova. Connection to National IX point was upgraded up to 1 Gbps.
      In 2008 the elaboration of the technical solution of DF link Chisinau – Iasi construction was continued and the terms of the practical realization of this optical connection will be determined in 2008.
      RENAM CERT operation was promoted and appropriate services for NREN community are deployed in production mode.
    13. The Compendium containing a lot of very useful data, that can be utilized for understanding trends of NRENs future development and the policies of these organizations operation. Some parts are completing and some questions are answering in different manner that doesn't allow to make direct comparison and even sometime to understand precisely the real state of target NREN.
