Brief description of the governing structure: Through an annual General Assembly the shareholders express their views and elect the board of directors. The board of directors is the responsible governing body of the organisation and employs the managing director.

The organisation is divided into four groups, each headed by a group leader.
Involvement in cctld or domain names: UNINETT has a subsidiary called UNINETT FAS that hosts the cctld for the no (Norway), sj (Spitsbergen) and bv (Bouvet Island) domains. UNINETT and UNINETT FAS participate in RIPE related work.
