Dear GA members,

On behalf of the TERENA President, Mr. Pierre Bruyère, I herewith invite you to the 36th meeting of the TERENA General Assembly, which will take place in Brussels, Belgium on 26 and 27 October 2011. The meeting is hosted by the Belgian National Member of TERENA, Belnet.

The exact times of the meeting are:

Wednesday 26 October 2011, 14:00 - 17:00 hours;
Thursday 27 October, 09:00 - 12:30 hours.
Belnet will provide a light lunch at the venue on both days.

The venue is at the Belnet offices,
Louizalaan 231 Avenue Louise
1050 Brussels

On the 26th of October, there will be a dinner jointly hosted by Belnet and TERENA, marking the occasion of TERENA's 25th Anniversary. Dr. Carl-Christian Buhr, member of the Cabinet of Vice-President Kroes of the European Commission, will give a short dinner speech.
It is difficult to come to this dinner using your own transportation! You are therefore strongly advised to use the special bus that will leave from the bus park in the Rue du Cardinal Mercier, near the central train station in the centre of Brussels at 18:45 and from the 'Place Stephanie' near the Avenue Louise at 19:20. Return transportation will be by the same means. Registration for this dinner was required by 21 October at the latest!

We strongly recommend that you book a hotel that is close to the Belnet offices, for example the White hotel or the Thon Hotel Bristol Stephanie, or a hotel in the centre of Brussels.

If you or your substitute are unable to come to the GA meeting, it is possible to give a proxy to another person. We will need a letter signed by the Representative or the Substitute Representative giving the proxy to another named person. (Please send a scanned .pdf file of such a letter by e-mail.) The letter must reach the Executive Committee before the start of the GA meeting. Note that nobody is allowed to vote for more than two member organisations.

If you would like to change the representative or substitute representative of your organisation to the TERENA General Assembly, we would ask you to send a letter, signed by a legal representative of the organisation, making the change. (A .pdf file is accepted, an e-mail message is not sufficient.)

I hope to meet all of you in Brussels!

Best regards,

Bert van Pinxteren
Chief Administrative Officer
