TERENA Organises Workshop to Promote Research and Education Networking in Albania

The first step towards establishing a National Research and Education Network (NREN) in Albania was taken at a workshop organised by TERENA. The event took place in the Albanian capital Tirana on 1 December 2005 and was part of a series of activities led by TERENA to provide assistance to the development of research and education networking in less-advanced regions in and around Europe.

Lifecycle and Portfolio Management Group (LCPM) Makes Plans to Form a TERENA Task Force

Nineteen members of the LCPM initiative from European research and education networks (NRENS) met in Amsterdam on 23 November, both to present and discuss ongoing LCPM activities and to finalise plans to present the Terms of Reference for the creation of a proposed new task force, TF-LCPM, to the TERENA Executive Committee during their upcoming meeting in mid-December.

TERENA AND FIRST Organise First Joint CSIRT Training Course

Following on from the TRANSITS project (Training of Network Security Incident Teams Staff), TERENA and FIRST, the global Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams, have agreed to organise at least two training workshops per year for members (and future members) of Computer Security Incident Response Teams (CSIRTs). The first in this new series of training events took place in Vienna, Austria on 21-22 November 2005. The workshop was sponsored by ISPA, the Austrian Association of Internet Service Providers.

TERENA Publishes Selected Papers from TNC 2005

TERENA has published selected papers from the TERENA Networking Conference 2005. This is the second of a series of annual Web-based publications of the selected papers from TERENA Networking Conferences.
