Dear REFEDs,

eduGAIN is an authentication and authorisation infrastructure for cross-national access to network services, focusing initially on European level. eduGAIN is a confederation that  interconnects Participant Federations, representing primarily education and research in a certain country.

The policy subtask of the GN3 eduGAIN project releases a draft of the eduGAIN policy for public commenting. The policy document is available for download in www.edugain.org/policy and consists of

- eduGAIN declaration (joining federations sign)

- eduGAIN constitution

- metadata profile (required)

- metadata terms of access and use

- attribute profile (recommended)

- data protection profile (optional)

Everyone is encouraged to fill in his/her comments to the document template in the website and submit them to  edugain-policy-comments@xxxxxxxxx no later than 1st of September, 2010. To ensure transparency of the procedure, eduGAIN policy subtask will publish the comments and its resolutions.

On behalf of the eduGAIN policy subtask,

Mikael Linden
