Dick Visser (Senior System & Network Engineer)

Dick (Dyonisius) Visser is Senior System and Network Engineer at the Amsterdam office of the GÉANT Association - formerly the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association, (TERENA). He joined TERENA in November 2000.

After graduating in chemistry from the Hogeschool van Amsterdam in 1998, he was a network manager for the national telecommunications transmission network of KPN Telecom in Hilversum. While working at KPN, he discovered that his main interest was not in transmission techniques, but more in the UNIX world and so decided to make a shift in his career and joined TERENA.

In July 2007 he began studying at the University of Amsterdam and in June 2009 he graduated with a Master's in System & Network Engineering.

Dick is responsible for setting up and maintaining the Amsterdam office's IT infrastructure. He can be contacted for any technical question related to this office's online presence.

In his spare time, Dick enjoys cycling on his road bike. For non-work matters and (even more) spam, he can be contacted at <dnmvisser@gmail.com>.

Dick shares his IT experiences on his wiki page.
