TERENA kindly invites you to participate in the upcoming task force preparation meeting on 5-6 November 2009 in Prague, Czech Republic. Hosted by CESNET, the Czech national research and education networking organisation, this one-day event will focus on finalising the definition of the work items and timelines for TERENA's new task force on rich media content production, management and distribution services, called TF-Media.

Expected to get started in January 2010, TF-Media will be a forum to collect and exchange ideas, knowledge and experiences about the technical and legal aspects of federated multimedia production, management and distribution services. It is also planned to liaise with other related task forces and communities such as OpenFlow while focusing on issues most relevant to the research and education networking community.

This is a great opportunity to collaborate with other European NRENs and universities to explore the architectures, technologies and workflow processes necessary for various rich media content production management and distribution.

How could you get involved?

Join us for this important event, and register here for the upcoming TF-Media preparation meeting. We are looking for volunteers to contribute ideas on the direction of the task force and to help shape the future of multimedia production, management and distribution.

Who should attend?

If you are designing, developing and/or deploying, operating, administrating multimedia production, management and distribution services at your NREN or university and/or you are interested in the related collaboration, standardisation and legal issues, you are welcome to attend the preparation meeting and share your experiences and ideas.

Interested in learning more?

Read more about the plans for TF-Media here, including the specific objectives of the task force and the draft terms of reference. Or, contact Peter Szegedi, TF-Media secretary at szegedi@xxxxxxxxxx.

We look forward to seeing you there.

With kind regards,
