Frankly speaking (experience with running about 40 streaming servers):
please note that codecs that are being currently supported by red5 are real
piece of s**t.
If you really want to run some streaming server, focus to servers that
supports H.264 AVC or VC-1 codecs.
So use of Wowza/Adobe FMS for H.264 AVC embedded in flash, Mac Darwin for Qt
or Helix for H.264 or Windows Media streaming server for VC-1 are the only
real real possibilities. Red5 shall be taken on board when it starts to
support H.264.
BTW forget for Flash and HD in current version of flash and current
computers (HD runs perfectly on my machine equipped with eight processor
cores - but for dual core).

Michal
