Hi Andreas,
we made good experience with the open source based red5 streaming server
here at the University of Osnabrück.
HD will be included in the 0.9 version of the red5 server.
Demo is available:
http://s1blue2.waltertak.com:15080/demos/
We´re using it since version 0.6.3 and the server runs very relaibale.
We´re streaming around 1000h a week of flash web lecture recording video.
I believe it´s worth to give it a try.
Best wishes from Osnabrück
