I have an iPod Touch and I upgraded it to 2.0 firmware. Out of the box 
it seems to do PEAP/MSCHAP only indeed, but according to 
http://wifinetnews.com/archives/008391.html you are able to use the 
iPhone configuration utility to configure other EAP-methods. I have not 
tried this yet myself, will let you know if I find out more.
