Buses

Taxis
Lisbon taxis are cheap and plentiful. All new vehicles are cream coloured and older taxis are black with a turquoise/green roofs. Taxi fares within the city are calculated on the basis of an initial flat charge and then by a metered tariff. One tariff applies from 06:00-22:00 on working days and a higher tariff applies all other times. Additional charges will be made for calling a taxi rather than hailing one in the street and for carrying luggage. The fare from the airport to most locations in central Lisbon should cost no more than 2,000 PTE. Tips are voluntary; but a 10-15% tip is normal.

NOTE - Taking Taxis from the Airport
At the arrivals section of the airport, taxis have to queue up in a long line to accept passengers. Sometimes, drivers are not very happy to take passengers on very short trips to hotels located close to the airport, and have been known to charge unreasonable fares. When arriving at the airport we advise you to take a short walk to the departures section of the airport and take a taxi from there. It is advisable to ask the driver the approximate fare before starting the journey.
