TF-MSP Document Store - CEF

This space has been created to provide easy access to material related to the European Commission's proposal to create a Public Trans-European Backbone. The proposal was presented at the TERENA General Assembly meeting on 26 October 2010.

• Commission staff working document on the implementation of national broadband plans. The Commission have recently published a number of documents on their national broadband plans via the newsroom website. They provide interesting background reading.
• President José Manuel Barroso page on the Connecting Europe Facility "Connecting Europe Facility and the Project Bond Initiative are a perfect demonstration of the value added that Europe can provide."
• Notes on the presentation of CEF to TF-MSP on 7 February 2012
  On 7 February 2012 Jean-Luc Dorel, Unit F3, DG-INFSO gave a presentation on the Connecting Europe Facility proposal to a meeting of TF-MSP. These notes of the presentation and discussion were made by John Dyer, secretary of TF-MSP.
• Prior notice of call for study on national preparedness for CEF
  This link points to a December edition of the tenders electronic daily that giving a prior notice of a forthcoming call for the study. It is expected that the call will be launched in spring 2012 with a contract being awarded by summer 2012. Work should be complete by summer 2013. The text of the prior notice appears at the bottom of the page.

  This presentation contains details of the funding and timescales for the project should the proposal be accepted.

  This 135 page document provides a common legalistaive basis for a single EC programme to cover pan-European connectivity in the areas of: Transport; Energy and Telecommunications. In the past each of these topics has been covered individually.
