  This five page summary by the US-FCC explains that broadband is a foundation for economic growth, job creation, global competitiveness and a better way of life for American citizens. It proposes four ways in which the US government should influence the broadband ecosystem: Robust Competition; Efficient Allocation and Management of Assets; Reform of the Universal Service Mechanisms; Reform Laws, Policies Standards and Incentives to maximise benefits of broadband. • Austrailian National Broadband Network (April 2009)
  
  This joint minsterial press release announces the establishment of a new company to build and operate a new super fast National Broadband Network. The network is intended to connect 90 percent of all Australian homes, schools and workplaces with broadband services with speeds up to 100 megabits per second. The Government will be the majority shareholder of this company, but significant private sector investment in the company is anticipated. In initial government investment is planned to be AU$4.7 billion (around 3.3 billion euro at 2010 exchange rate).
