The TERENA Task Force on Life Cycle and Portfolio Management (TF-LCPM) works on the business aspects of service and product delivery.
NRENs usually offer service-portfolios that have emerged in an evolutionary and technology-driven development process. In response to the requirements of an increasingly critical use constituency, NRENs have no other choice than to improve the management of their service portfolios.
As from 1 March 2008, TF-LCPM will be replaced by the new TF-MSP (Management of Service Portfolios). A new area for TF-MSP will be created very shortly.
It is planned that TF-MSP holds a joint meeting with TF-PR during the afternoon of Sunday 18 May at the TNC 2008 location in Brugge, Belgium. Precise details will be provide on the TF-MSP pages
Work Areas
Activities within TF-LCPM are split into four work areas.
- Service Portfolios: Analysis and comparison of NREN service portfolios.
- Comparison of service level agreements: Analysis and comparison of SLAs currently offered by NRENs.
- Exchange of Ideas: New technology and customer requirements for new services.
- Development of LCPM decision-making models and tools: Best practices for lifecycle and portfolio management within NRENs.
