SCHAC: SChema Harmonisation Committee

The SChema Harmonisation Committee was set up in February 2005 with the aim of carrying out some work in the area of attributes coordination related to higher education under the aspect of inter-institutional data exchange, recognised by the group as a real need.
SCHAC Objectives
- Building an internal kernel from existing local attributes and agreeing on syntax and semantics and let the kernel evolve via a collaborative approach
- Defining a method to accept new attributes/classes
- Promoting the schemas within the NRENs constituency making the results part of the local schemas
- Promoting the schemas in other fields, such as GEANT2, digital libraries, EUNIS, Internet2 and others
