Budapest Airport (BUD)
Budapest has two main airports, but they are both quite close together and both can be accessed via a single webpage. They are called "Ferihegy 1 and 2". From Ferihegy 2 has no train service, but there is a public bus which takes you to the Blue (M3) metro line, then from there you can reach the venue and hotels.
You should buy tickets from the machines at the airport before you board the bus, which only accept cash so you should withdraw some cash when you arrive at the airport. Change is given at the ticket machines.
Tickets can be purchased at underground stations, newspaper stands and tobacco shops near underground stations. One ticket can be used for a single trip on a single line and costs 300HUF (approx €1.10).
There is a webpage whereby you can plan your route, find out about tickets etc.
Accessing the venue by public transport
The best and fastest way is to use underground M2 line to access the venue from the city center. Get off at station "Stadionok" and walk to the surface, following signs for (Kerepesi út, or Tram no. 1 or Tram 1A).
The venue from here is a five minute walk, but you can also use Tram No. 1 to get there more quickly. Get onto Tram no. 1 going towards "Lágymányosi híd". Get off at the next stop "Hős utca". The university building is in front of the tram stop.
There is a really handy website, Inyourpocket.com, where you can find some very useful information, tips and tricks for your stay in Budapest.
Another great resource is budapest.com for general information and emergency numbers etc.
