Introducion to IdM Systems
Set up an Identity Management System means collecting the identity-related information from the various systems of record, joining them together so that the data associated with an individual is listed together, then making that available to applications for authentication and authorization.
The steps to set up an Identity Management System can be summurised as follows:
- Planning: to decide which record collect
- Mapping electronic identities
- Set up directory services: to merges data from different sources into one or more directory
- Authentication
- Authorisation
