Middleware EuroCAMP 2005
CAMP (Campus Architecture Middleware Planning) workshops have been taking place in the United States for a few years now. Following these examples, TERENA will organise the first CAMP event in Europe on 2nd-4th March 2005 in Turin (Torino), hosted by the Politecnico di Torino (Technical University of Turin).
Aim of the event
EuroCAMP is an important milestone for the academic community in Europe to develop an integrated and collaborative research environment. EuroCAMP aims to develop the knowledge and skills that are needed by staff who are involved in the set-up of identity management systems (IdMS) for authentication and authorisation. IdMSs are important to enhance security at the campus level. Security practices and case studies will be identified.
Examples of best-practice in security will be presented, as well as case studies.
The three day programme will also provide on overview of federations and how these are used to access applications and to
access a network.
Example will be provided how to provide authentication for accessing a wireless networks.
Prominent members in the field of Shibboleth, PKI, wireless network, authentication and authorisation will be giving lectures during the three-day workshop.
Who should attend
The target participants of EuroCAMP include CIOs, IT architects and IT managers of universities and research centres across Europe any other persons who are involved in designing campus-wide digital ID systems, representatives of national research and education networks in Europe who are involved in harmonising digital ID systems at a national and international level and any other persons who are involved with digital ID systems in academia.
