eduroam MiniCAMP
The eduroam miniCAMP are workshops aimed to promote the usage of eduroam in countries where eduroam is not known yet.These workshops are meant for system administrators and IT managers, who are involved in installing RADIUS servers and all the other components needed to set-up a wireless LAN.
What is eduroam
eduroam is the European infrastructure based on the 802.1X secure technology and RADIUS proxy servers to provide wireless access to all eduroam members;eduroam allows eduroam-enabled users to log on to the eduroam WLAN a visited institution using the same credentials the users would use if they were connecting at their home institution.
eduroam MiniCAMP Programme
The eduroam MiniCAMP programme has been conceived to cover the following issues:
- 802.1X technology
- RADIUS proxy servers to transport users' credentials
- Issues involved in setting-up eduroam
- The eduroam federation
The basic programme is described below:
- Overview of the middleware initiatives in the European Higher Education community
- eduroam technology and how to set up eduroam
- eduroam-in-a-box: a tool to ease eduroam deployment
- eduroam federation
The programme might slightly deviate from the proposed version above to better fit audience requirements and pre-knowledge.
