Workshop history

TERENA E2E Provisioning Workshop series was established to involve key players from national research and education networking organisations, metropolitan, campus and local networking organisations, and to gather people together who can share expertise and experience in establishing real end-to-end connection services for universities and research labs in Europe.

The 1st E2E Provisioning workshop was focused on "Establishing Lightpaths". The technical feasibility of end-to-end connection services, especially the last mile challenges were discussed. The 2nd E2E Provisioning workshop was about the "Provisioning of E2E Services". All the service provisioning and potential business aspects were discussed, covering all network domains from campuses to the core.

The 3rd TERENA E2E Provisioning Workshop, the last one in this workshop series, will attempt to get the campus/end-site network operators, the national network service managers/administrators and the middleware and application developers/designers together, in order to identify the key applications including both the specific communities (e.g. eVLBI, LHC, telemedicine etc.) and the 'average' user (e.g. videoconferencing, virtual labs etc.).
