IdM Workshops Programme
The programme for the IdM workshops has been conceived to cover the following issues:
- Requirements for IdMs, including decisions about the identity records to collect and their mapping to electronic identities;
- Identifier assignment and coding schemas for individual data;
- Usage of directories/databases and their harmonisation;
- Authentication and Authorisation methods;
The basic programme is described below:
- Introduction to Identity Management systems
- Overview of schemas used for IdMs
- Examples of schemas: eduPerson and family
- Directories in real life: What do we use directories for?
How do you store the information into a directory?
What are the options? - Introduction to LDAP
- Introduction to RADIUS
- Introduction to Authentication mechanisms, such as LDAP, SASL, PAM, Kerberos, Samba etc)
- Introduction to Authorisation mechanisms, such as SAML
- Example of IdMs in real life
The programme might slightly deviate from the proposed version above to better fit audience requirements and pre-knowledge.
