Afrodite Sevasti (Member)
Dr. Afrodite Sevasti holds the position of Network Services Development Manager at the Greek Research and Technology Network (GRNET) S.A. She is also a member of the GEANT2 project Technical Committee, coordinating the research activity on Bandwidth on Demand. Prior to joining GRNET, she has worked as an R&D Computer Engineer for several years at the RA Computer Technology Institute (Greece).
Afrodite graduated from the Computer Engineering and Informatics Department of Patras University, where she also received her PhD in the field of QoS enhancements on IP-based networks. She also holds an MSc degree on Computer Science from the same department and an MSc degree in Information Networking from the Information Networking Institute of Carnegie Mellon University.
Her main interests and expertise lie in technologies and architectures of high performance networks, in traffic and network resources management, provisioning of Quality of Service (QoS), SLAs and pricing/billing of next-generation networks. She has published 30 papers in well-known refereed conferences and journals. She has participated in several R&D projects, including SEQUIN (IST), EGEE (IST) and she will lead the Standardization and Liaisons activity of the FEDERICA project (RI) (Federated E-infrastructure Dedicated to European Researchers Innovating in Computing network Architectures).
