Lígia Maria Ribeiro (Member)
Lígia Maria Ribeiro is pro-rector at the University of Porto since 2006, being the responsible for ICT.
Since 2003 she has been vice-president of the Institute for Common Resources and Initiatives of the same university. She is also a Principal Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering (FEUP) of U.PORTO where she was director of the Computer Center between 1997 and 2002.
Her main research interests are Computer Simulation, HPC and Information Systems. She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Master Program on Information Management at FEUP.
Lígia Ribeiro was also President of EUNIS, the European University Information Systems Association, between 2004 and 2006, after being vice-president for two years.
She is presently an invited member of the EUNIS Board of Directors.
She received her degree in Applied Mathematics in 1977 at the University of Porto and holds a PhD in Engineering Science from the University of Minho
